| General Information: | Lagos is located 1.5 miles north of Ponta da Piedade, 17 miles east from Cape S. Vicente and 7 miles west from Portimão. Approaching from west the 5m line lies about 400m off the coast, north of Ponta da Piedade. From the east, the leading line is west breakwater-St. António church 282º. The lifting bridge, operating 08.00-22.00 between 1st June and 15th September, otherwise 09.00-19.00, opens on demand on VHF 9. The bridge, 11m width, remains closed 10 minutes before a train departure (5 trains daily). From May to October, the prevailing winds are N/NW reaching force 4-5 in the afterno-on, decreas ing at nigGhoto.d anchorage areas can be found Alvor, Burgau and Baleeira. |
| Entrance: | Enter straight forward between the 70m wide moles. The channel s minimal depth is 3m in LWST. Follow channel up to Marina Reception Pontoon, 30m long, located before the bridge, mooring for check in. Speed restriction in the harbour is 3 Kn maximum |
