| General Information: | The entrance of the port lies 1,5M south of Cabo de Sines and is protected by a N-S 1700m breakwater. The southern end of the breakwater is partially submerged and is marked by a red buoy. The entrance is very wide. N and NW winds prevail in the area; during the winter, strong south and southwesterlies may occur. The most part of the year the visibility is good; fog, when occurs, normally from July to October, starts during the night and early morning, dissipating in the afternoon. The major marks are Cabo de Sines and four high chimneys. |
| Entrance: | Approaching from the north, at Cabo de Sines, give an offing of 0,5M to the coast. To enter Sines leave the red buoy on your port hand. Never cut inside this buoy and the breakwater. The marina lies NE inside a small harbour protected by two moles (lit). Once inside the harbour head to the marina, that lies on the starboard hand. |
