The entrance of the port lies 1,5M south of Cabo de Sines and is protected by a N-S 1700m breakwater. The southern end of the breakwater is partially submerged and is marked by a red buoy. The entrance is very wide. N and NW winds prevail in the area; during the winter, strong south and southwesterlies may occur. The most part of the year the visibility is good; fog, when occurs, normally from July to October, starts during the night and early morning, dissipating in the afternoon. The major marks are Cabo de Sines and four high chimneys.More Information...

The whole area is formed by several islands and considered natural park where certain restrictions apply. The 200m wide entrance between the islands Cabo de Santa Maria and Culatra, is defined by two lit breakwaters heading SSW. A current of up to 3Kn may set along the sandy coast. The 10m line runs about 1M offshore. The major reference is Cabo de Santa Maria light. This dock it is completed with local craft and also for the Club´s members.More Information...

Marina de Albufeira

The coast is formed by sandy beaches with hills or cliffs behind. The main marks in the area are Albufeira light and the water tank Serro d'Águia on top of the hill. During the Summer occur strong breezes, from the beginning of the afternoon until sunset, picking from SW moving through W to WNW or NW. The marina, located inside Orada plain, is connected by an artificial channel to an inner bay well protected from SSW wind by two moles.More Information...

Lagos is located 1.5 miles north of Ponta da Piedade, 17 miles east from Cape S. Vicente and 7 miles west from Portimão. Approaching from west the 5m line lies about 400m off the coast, north of Ponta da Piedade. From the east, the leading line is west breakwater-St. António church 282¿. The lifting bridge, operating 08.00-22.00 between 1st June and 15th September, otherwise 09.00-19.00, opens on demand on VHF 9. The bridge, 11m width, remains closed 15 minutes before a train departure (5 trains daily). From May to October, the prevailing winds are N/NW reaching force 4-5 in the afterno-on, decreas ing at nigGhoto.d anchorage areas can be found Alvor, Burgau and Baleeira.More Information...

Approaching from the west, the line of the lights at the ends of the breakwaters bears 097º. Approaching from the east, Ponta do Altar may hide behind the entrance of the harbour. Inside the breakwaters, the leading line formed by the two lights at Ferragudo bears 021º, which leaves buoy nº2 on port hand. Once this buoy is abeam, head to buoy nº4. The entrance of the marina will be approximately half way on port hand, and is formed by two lights moles. The channel has a depth of 7m, at least. Strong tidal streams run near the entrance, principally during ebb.More Information...

The main marks in the area Ponta de Alfanzina at the west and Cabo de Santa Maria at the southeast. The marina has its own light, 19M, placed at the control tower. The large Vilamoura Marinotel close to the entrance of the marina is to be considered conspicuous once the breakwaters may be difficult to pick out from far.More Information...

The Guadiana River forms the southeast border between Portugal and Spain. On either side of the river the coast is formed by sandy beaches. Near the entrance of the river the 10m line lies about 2M offshore. Approaching from the west, the conspicuous marks are Monte Gordo high buildings and Vila Real Lighthouse. Approaching from the east, the apartment blocks of Isla Cristina are conspicuous.
